Ukraine's finest Limewax and Austria's Synthakt share more than just similar hairstyles, but also a similar taste in music. Their most recent collaboration now sees a release on L/B Recordings, Limewax's outfit for the more adventurous DnB out there. The a-side features "Morons", a funky tech-roller of the best kind......quite a standard tune, up to the point where they are sampling somebody positively screaming in agony. This is what people love L/B Recordings for, you never cease to be amazed by how radical these productions are. On the b-side Synthakt and Limewax are pushing the boundaries of DnB even further with "Utopia", a post-skullstep number of the crudest kind. Innovative drum breaks topped by endlessly variating pads and synth stabs make this a composition that sounds closer to Autechre and Aphex Twin than to Wilkinson or any of the new generation neuro-funk artists. Another milestone for L/B Recordings!
